Hello, I am Yusaku Akima, Director of Flora Clinic, also known as “Dr. Sakuchan.” As a cosmetic surgeon and aesthetic dermatologist, I work with many patients every day who aspire to become more beautiful. At the same time, I have a somewhat unique background—I am also active as a voice actor, media personality, and live streamer.
I became a cosmetic surgeon in 2017. Prior to that, I worked as an otolaryngologist and head & neck surgeon at Chiba University Hospital, a national university hospital. Motivated by the desire to help people overcome appearance-related insecurities and live with greater confidence, I entered the field of aesthetic medicine. In 2021, I founded Flora Clinic Ikebukuro, a cosmetic surgery and dermatology clinic established as a “world-first concept clinic.”
This clinic embodies my personal vision and passion.
About My Dream
Since childhood, I have dreamed of becoming a voice actor. Even while working as a physician, I never gave up on that dream. I trained under renowned voice actors, studied performance, and have appeared in staged reading productions. I also collaborate on a YouTube channel, “Mika Kanai and Dr. Sakuchan’s Beauty Fairy Miracle Flora Broadcasting Station,” with Mika Kanai—the celebrated voice actress known for Melonpanna-chan from the popular Japanese anime Anpanman.
Why do I share this story? Because I deeply understand the desire to become the person you truly want to be. Some people may find it unusual that I continue voice acting while practicing medicine. However, the wish to live authentically and never abandon one’s dreams is fundamentally the same feeling shared by patients seeking aesthetic treatment.
